Annual reports

University of Pennsylvania Division of Finance, Annual Reports (2023, 2024, 2025)

Alison and her team project managed, wrote, and edited this Ivy League university’s annual reports for three years running, during a time of significant change—and, frankly, upheaval—fiscally and politically for the university (and higher ed more broadly). These reports needed to be sober, clear, compelling, and relatable.

All three years, the infographics brought the data to life and provided compelling context, and Alison worked closely with Penn and the designer to devise visual approaches that engaged the scanning reader as well as those scouring for footnotes.

The first year we upgraded the Penn financials to be more readily accessible and feature magazine-style editorial mini stories on impact. In 2024 we used Penn’s strategic framework to devise an organization for that storytelling. The 2025 report features a primer on the endowments, to help the Penn community understand the history and legal guardrails protecting the university’s investments over time and ensuring their potential to sustain robust scholarships, research and other restricted programming for the school over time. Rowan University’s Research Report for the South Jersey Technical Park (SJTP), 2013

ARC project managed this report dedicated to Rowan’s growing research activities, centered around the SJTP. We developed the report’s organization and did research and interviews with high-level administrators and faculty to create the content.
We also worked closely with the designer to devise an engaging and inspiring view of a university that is evolving in exciting new ways.

 Haverford College’s Center for Peace and Global Citizenship Annual Review, 2010–11

ARC edited and project managed this 24-page publication profiling activities by students and faculty who are active locally, nationally, and internationally in projects sponsored by one of Haverford’s three academic centers.

Haverford College’s Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center Annual Review, 2010

ARC edited and project managed this 16-page summary of research activities in the natural sciences, which includes faculty and student testimonials.

 

Jefferson Medical College Department of Medicine Report, 2006

ARC devised the organization, did research, and adapted content from existing documents for this 50-page, 4-color overview of Jefferson’s prestigious medical program, which encompasses 13 divisions and hundreds of physicians, researchers, faculty, educators, and administrators. ARC also art directed all new photography, edited, and acquired approvals from all university stakeholders. Designed by JeffGraphics.

ARC wrote this Annual Review, drawing from material generated during interviews with dozens of attorneys to generate website content. Conceived and designed by Greenfield/Belser Ltd.
